At 5D Wellness, we use over 200 of the highest quality Chinese granular herb medicinals from KPC Herbs. Either in person or via telehealth video call, we do a thorough intake of all bodily systems and functions to formulate the perfect custom herbal tea for you. Granular herbs are dissolved in hot water and taken as a tea either once or twice per day as prescribed.

How can Traditional Chinese Herbs help me?

Stemming from a 5,000-year-old tradition, herbal medicinals are the foundation of Chinese medicine and are a staple within the Chinese hospital system in combination with Western medicine. Thousands of plants, roots, flowers, shells, insects, and animal materials make up the vast Materia Medica of medicinal substances that, in specific combinations, treat both acute pathogenic disease such as common cold, flu, and food poisoning as well as many chronic internal conditions like arthritis, insomnia, digestive problems, and menstrual irregularities.

In the art of herbal formula making, we combine specific substances to create homeostasis in the body. Through an assessment of your symptoms and by looking at your tongue and pulse through a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis, herbs are combined in formula based on their properties of temperature, flavor, and directionality.

The most common conditions that I see in my clinic for herbal treatment include:

  • Digestive problems
  • Menstrual and peri-/menopausal symptoms
  • Hormone imbalance
  • Fertility support
  • Allergies and sinus congestion
  • Seasonal colds
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis and circulation issues
  • Autoimmune conditions

How long do I take herbs?

Herbal treatment generally depends on the duration and severity of the condition and the underlying constitution and strength of the individual. For acute cold, flu, and sinusitis, herbal treatment may only last from several days to a week. For chronic and persistent conditions, herbal teas may be prescribed anywhere from 2 months to 2 years. Your herbalist will make any changes to your formula as your symptoms change. The goal of Chinese herbal medicine is always to address the root of the problem, so that your system regains balance and no longer needs herbal supplementation. As you body regains its strength, vitality, and normal functionality, we also recommend foods and exercises that can assist you in making a lifestyle shift to prevent the return of your systems.
