Cupping

Cupping

This technique involves the creation of a vacuum with glass cups on the surface of the skin that creates warmth, promotes blood circulation, and alleviates pain. Cupping is commonly performed along the muscles of the upper back, along the spine and lower back, abdomen, thigh and hip region, arms, lower legs and bottoms of the feet. Common conditions that cupping may improve include chronic and acute pain, colds, fever and flus, gastro-intestinal disorders and internal organ problems. Cupping intentionally creates bruising (petechiae) and may leave skin discoloration for several days or more.
